UAD Magic Box Really is A Game Changer
The UAD Sattelite 2 Really is A Game Changer!
The ability to run a full complement of UAD plug-ins is quickly transforming the way I mix- but more than that, advancing the way I select tones while composing and arranging, since the greater processing power enables more experimentation with the way various preamps and EQs etc enhance the instrument sounds.
Eventually I'll have three of these boxes, love that it's so portable as well!

All the power I need
I love my TB OCTO Satellite. Kinda sucks that it does not help on your Apollo inputs, but it is great when mix time comes. 99% of my time is spent tracking, but this Satellite makes the1% of mixing very nice.

SO MUCH POWER
Now my spaceship can achieve WARP SPEED. I can blow up any enemy in my way. In all seriousness..i have 2 octo's now..and it is AMAZING to be able to strap UA plugs on at will with no concern for DSP. If you can afford...do it

UAD Satellite
Got my promotional Satellite FREE when I purchased an Apollo 8 Quad November 2015...I was included in the promotion even though i was outside of the catchment date!
Having the Apollo Quad already, i just plugged and played (after downloading the software).
The additional DSP has enabled me to use heaps of plugins undeterred by processor overload fear.
The plugins themselves are amazing and i can't rate Universal Audio enough.

Makes mixing so easy I just may buy another one.
It's been said before and it's 100% true - there's no question that UAD plugins are simply best of breed. The DSP usage of some of the newer generation UAD2 plugins however makes you end up choosing between great plugins when you've just got an Apollo Twin. You can "freeze" tracks in Logic to save DSP but you cannot do that with buses - which is where I find I do most of my compression/limiting/eq. Being able to daisy chain multiple Thunderbolt satellites in my setup is a god send. Even with just a quad satellite it's opened the possibility of using multiple instances of MKII plugins that otherwise I would have had to disable, going with Legacy versions instead. I love it!

Completely changed the way I mix!
I have heard about UA stuff for a while now, but have been hesitant to take the plunge. I have to say that the satellite that I recently purchased is amazing and so are the plugs. My UAD has taken so much of the strain away from my computer that I can actually mix like I used to on an analog console. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to my friends. Such a great addition to my mix room.

I was a Creamware/SonicCore customer as I did believe in working with SHARC DSPs. I sold my 2 PowerPulsar cards as the software was not running on Mac OS X when I switched from PC and because they did not propose plugins replicas of the music industry standards, I discovered UAD2. So I did acquire the UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt OCTO Ultimate 4 together with the Apollo Twin Thunderbolt: 10 DSPs in total as the SonicCore XITE-1 but loaded with fabulous plugins and seamless integration with my DAW. Next level: bring in synthesizers like the Acces Virus for a much better integration than the TI Desktop. Thanks a lot: the quality of my productions has improved a lot.

Loving my Satellite
Gives me the DSP power to comfortably utilise my UAD plugins in the right way. I was struggling to manage my resources using the Apollo on its own, I've just completed the best sounding remix I've ever made and UAD meter and CPU meter both only at 50%. This gives me far more power than upgrading my IMac would so the purchase was a no brainier. I see many people are moaning about Thunderbolt cables but I understand that Apple does not permit you to supply one, so it's not the fault of UAD. Keep coming with the deals on plugins and be happy to keep buying.... UAD has has seriously bridged the gap for me from being a bedroom producer to a professional one who receives regular radio play.

THUNDER THUNDER THUNDERBOLT HOOOOOOO
As I stated in my Apollo Twin review , I grabbed a Satellite Quad UAD2 to use the heavier plug ins on the mix side and it works just as advertised. Five Sharc Chips is plenty enough DSP for what i'm doing, can't speak for others. I'm running a small home personal recording studio and it does what I need it to do when i need it to do it,lol. UAD plug ins "ARE" the best sounding plug ins in the business , point blank. For those individuals that are on a budget like myself, demo the plug ins and "ONLY" purchase the ones that you will most likely use daily like i did. The only downside is once again, it doesn't come with a thunderbolt cable, C'MON UA.........

I ended up with a Quad through the December promo. I was already considering upgrading to the "next gen" Apollo - a free Quad forced my hand. I'm not sure the improvements to the Apollo are exactly night and day - but doubling my DSP has made a huge difference to my work flow. I don't have to worry about running out of juice anymore - Studers on every track!

Bought it for extra power to run alongside my Apollo Twin Duo on my laptop/travel rig.

Satellite 2 - Game Changer
Changed the way I record in my home studio. I run it on top of my Apollo 8 and I NEVER run out of DSP, I honestly can't believe how powerful this unit is. UAD fucking rocks, there's no other way to put it. I am new to the UAD world and am still getting blown away almost daily. In a world of thin, shitty, digital everything, it's refreshing to see a company doing it so right. Oh, and their customer service kicks ass too.
