sound
quality of sound is fantastic from the compressors and other products, i just hope they include resize on more of there plugins so see we can see better which was a deal breaker on some of the plugins which alot of people were talking about. the api channel strip was terrible and i didn't buy it and other vintage plugins

A promising start
I've only had this plugin for a few days so this is a kind of 'first impressions' review. I tried it as a master bus compressor on a couple of songs and it didn't really do anything that the Capitol mastering compressor doesn't do better but then I tried it on a drum bus and the results were very pleasing. The drums just sat where I wanted them to be in the mix. I look forward to trying some of the more outrageous settings.

nice tool
I feel it's a little difficult for me to have a good use,but it's a good tool.

Enhancer Maximus
This does a beautiful job of enhancing the shape of your source material whether vocal or instrument or mix bus.

Fascinating.!!
I couldn't believe it when I got it and tried it, it's incredible, it was worth it, honestly it's incredible

A clean useful comp-lim
Not something I would buy as hardware but in plug in style yes. The sound is good on drum tracks. From acoustic to EDM.

Produces expected results, which is a good thing!
Can be a little "thick" in the low mids like the hardware so you need to be careful if your mixes often suffer from low-mid build up, but overall it's very good and probably the best emulation out there. The only thing more 2500 than this is the actual hardware. I like the fact UA have now started including functions that aren't on the hardware too like mix controls etc.

magic when used gently
really shines doing some minor peak softening, very happy with this one on the master buss

Powerful, musical and smoothe but needs a careful hand
Not quite found the perfect setting yet but just getting started. I can feel the power in this plug in. No regrets but much tweaking to do.

fat
This compressor really work well on my busses , and on drums . It gives a fat and thick sound that is very solid. Very good.

Even with APIs, even strong, powerful sounds!
Simply changing the value makes it easier
old is especially recommended

Brilliant!
any earlier attempt I've heard of the API2500 fades. Seeks and destroys the waves version. Only wish is that the rather heavy DSP load would magically disappear, but I guess it explains why it sounds so good!

Gotta work for it
This plugin in has a bit of a learning curve but once you get the settings dialed in, its no joke the king of any bus you throw it on.

Learning Curve But Worth It
I gave this four stars... and that is kind of unfair. The truth is this unit requires some study and trial and error. But once you have it dialed in, it makes the drums sound incredible. I like it on the electric guitar bus as well. Killer.

Almost like the real thing
It sounds almost exactly like an API 2500 compressor. I'd say we're 90% there. It does have the API attitude, but doesn't have the tone. The bass is much bigger and tighter in the hardware, and dense mixes tend to collapse when compressed hard on the software, which doesn't happen with the hardware. However, I have to admit UA did a great job and for a fraction of the cost of a real 2500, it's up to you to decide if the difference is worth it or not (probably worth it if you're doing some mastering though).

Blows the Waves API 2500 away!
This is such a great compressor. Nothing punches quite like it. The UAD API 2500 comes so much closer to the hardware unit than the Waves version. Still, I think both come a pinch short of the smack you can get out of the hardware. Despite this, the UAD API 2500 sounds stunning and I will be using it on every mix.
