Exciting to an extent.
A beast on drums. Doesn't work on everything though. Use it sparsely. Takes up a lot of DSP and space in a mix.

Cool Plugin
This plugin sound great. I like Remic Mode making more space but It use more dsp . I can use one or two plugin in one session .
If it use little dsp , so great plugin .

Surprising plug-in
This is one of those plug-ins that when you read about it you get septic, but after you use it you understand the power of it.
Only used in in re-amp mode and it can give life to dead recordings but not like a reverb, it's hard to explain. I used it mainly in acoustic guitars recorded at my flat, the recordings were ok but when you put this plug in on top of it, approach the close mic to its max and making it predominant between the 3 existing mics, you can really listen the power of this plug in, it gives a little extra to you sound. The mid and far mics are there to give you more depth to the sound and some of the far mics can give you stereo bass. Used it in the master bus for orchestral material but doesn't always work. A bit pricey.

Not the easiest way around it
As much as I wanted to love this plug-in at first, I didn't when I demo-ed it. But I still got it anyways, knowing it'd be useful down the line.
It has saved my ass many times [mix sessions where there were no good drum room mics, and adding ambiances]. But it hasn't really been in an intuitive way.
I get the whole re-mic idea, and on paper it seems really cool. But the execution just isn't sensible for stuff that is tracked well - yet it's only really is meant for stuff that isn't tracked well.
Adding drum ambiance is what it does best. Really takes some careful bussing into it and a lot of messing with parameters in ways that I wouldn't expect to get a sound I dig. It does blend quite well once I'm there, though. Great plug still

There are convolution verbs out there that sound great, and if your source was recorded with the right way, this probably gets you close to the 100%. However if you are dealing with a lot of virtual instruments that sound "ok" but not "real", in the end it is only going to sound like an "unreal" instrument with a nice verb.
This plug makes it sound real to me. You have all flexibility to tweak the sound to your taste. -1 star for resource consumption, please make an SE version.

OK, it's better thn I thought
This is a revision. Now that I have bought this plugin I find myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. It is, in fact, different from other convolution reverbs, which I didn't get at first. I wish the plugin were more flexible (more mics) and the interface more fun (cannot drag the mics around), but it really does sound a lot like recording in the room--as intended.
The "replace the microphone" technology is a little suspect (how could it possibly replace the sound of an actual microphone?), but it does something--I know not what--that sounds good on may things.
All in all, a useful plugin, if rather pricey for what it does.

This is a very nice fit for my rig
Our "Family" room does triple duty as tracking, control and TV viewing area. The basement worked great for disco sounding drums and pretty well for lead vocals, but I really missed the ambient sound of my old tracking room. After hearing the recorded examples of OWS on the UA site, I had high hopes for what OWS might do for my situation. I invited a couple of drummers over and tracked a 4-piece kit with every drum close-mic'ed and a pair of overheads. Afterwards we rushed to the other side of the room, played back what we recorded through OWS, and I smiled! I don't have a clue what the real Ocean Way sounds like. I do know that since I probably won't move the studio again, I am so happy that UA and OWS released the OWS plug-in. Thanks UA!

Many Things to Love
In the 6 months I've been using this plugin, it has become a staple for my drum sounds. The variety of sounds I can extract is amazing, and the simple interface is idea. It's ALMOST everything I need. I wish it has automatic gain matching for A/B'ing to more intuitively compare. Otherwise I LOVE it.

Good for reverb but..
Great on an FX return, but I find it a bit overwhelming in Re-Mic mode. It changes the sound drastically, too much so for me. There are probably mix situations where Re-Mic would be appropriate, but I haven't come across one yet. I sent a well mixed dry sampled drum kit through it and tried some Re-Mic presets, and none of the drum ones satisfied. Too roomy, even dialed back.
OTOH, in Reverb mode, it is nice; perhaps nothing a good Convolution reverb can't do with effort, but the mic & room choices make it easy to dial in a good sound. The distance knobs and multiple mic points make it way more flexible than any Convolution verb, and it sounds great.

wonderful...but has a few issues
please UA - fix the distracting zipper noise and audible glitches on the fader controls...none of the other UA plugins have this issue.
Also - the fader controls need better physics - they are over-sensitive and its too easy to accidentally move one several db and upset the balance.
sonically - this is an amazing reverb & convolution device - worth the cost - it does some amazing things on pianos and other instruments that are difficult to sit in a mix.

Very useful
This is a really useful plugin for home studio production. Great to be able to put a live room on guitars recorded in my tiny studio. Also great to use with synthetic drums and bass to "liven" them up some.

tres realiste
le océan way studio et très bien réalisé et sonne vraiement très realiste. L'utilisation et facile à comprendre même s' il faut passé un peux de temps sur les réglages. Dommage qu'il consomme autant de resource sinon cela aurait mérité 5 étoiles

Less a 'reverb'. More of an additional studio 'room'!
This plugin is pretty awesome! Especially for someone like me who has a home studio and can't always afford to go to a nice studio with a great room sound. Feel like your drum tracks are a little too dead or dry? This plugin can do wonders. Need a little more space to that percussion, vocal, or guitar track? This plugin will make those tracks feel alive and give them some breathing room. It's a great tool!
I would give it 5 stars but for the price I kinda thing it could have one more room option or slightly more extensive variety. It is great at what it does but I feel like I will eventually crave another or more drastic options.

Bom... Preciso ter tempo pra testar melhor.
Usei pouco ainda, mas dá pra ter uma idéia que podemos simular todos os intrumentos em um único lugar, mesmo que captados em locais diferentes.

Fantastic
I rarely find myself in good rooms any more - this plug helps bridge the gap. I find myself using OWS in Re-mic mode on every session these days.

One of the most useful plugins i have used so far
This is my first review of UA software, but i felt i needed to give some credit here. I was reluctant to purchase because i didn't realize the real value at first: the Re-Mic mode and the ability, to bring virtual instruments to life.
There are convolution verbs out there that sound great, and if your source was recorded with the right way, this probably gets you close to the 100%. much money for a plugin environment
very good plugins, is the closest thing to being at ocean way studios but as it is the economy in Spain and the music is too expensive for a plugin environment

Another tool to pick from
Yep, overpriced as has been mentioned many times but it does add a dimension that I haven't been able to create from any other plug in. At least in a reasonable amount of time and effort.
I've never recorded at OWS so I can't say it sounds like you're recording in a great room- for my purposes the comparison is useless and nothing more then marketing. If it sounds good and gets the job done I couldn't care less what it's modeled after. As a reverb it does a great job of creating space around a sound source- that's all I need to make it a valid tool.
As for remicing- well it's interesting but basically you're using OWS mics to record what your own mic recorded. It's not like putting a C12 on your amp, it's like putting a c12 on your 414.....
