does not work with my new windows laptop
After 7 weeks of working with tech support from both Dell and Universal Audio, my brand new gaming laptop Dell G7, i7 with Thunderbolt does NOT detect the Apollo 8 at all, so I had to buy another laptop MacBook Air M1 bigSur and the Apollo does work on that.

WINDOWS
Very bad Windows Compatibility.... Had to buy for 1000 $ adds to make it work... Cable ( 50 $) thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter ( 150 $) a pci Card ( 200 $) and a compatible computer motherboard ( 700 $ to have installed and rigged on my actual computer. So in the end the question is : Is it realy compatible with windows ? In my book i wouldn't say so. Other Brands work definitely better with Windows..
Buying an Apollo is one of the worst move i made in my engeneer career .

UA Software Update V9.7.1
Wondering how many of you out there experienced the same "update" issue that caused my 2nd Gen Apollo8P to crash? I was having no problems at all... installed the V9.7.1, and now I can't get the Mac to recognize the 8P. Troubleshooting efforts by the UA team were fruitless, and they want me to send the equipment in for further evaluation... with a $200 carte blanche pre-approval. Again, absolutely no issues at all before the update, which included a forced firmware update that seems to be the root of the issue. Considering I paid such a hefty price for the equipment, my expectation would be UA support without costing me money for their evaluation.

Arrived defective, now struggling with the authorized reseller to replace it.
The interface would not turn on after first installation. I left it connected a couple hours and decided to try again, surprisingly it turned on. I reported the issue with the seller and they recommended me to keep it under supervision. I used it a couple times, then needed to leave town for a week, and when back, again presented the same problem.
I had to take it to the seller; they reported to experience the same problem at first, then supposedly went through tech revisions but weren't able to find the problem so they practiced minor adjustments "just in case". Now they tell me everything works with it and now they are not replacing the unit, instead I am supposed to keep a repaired device after purchasing it brand new. I am very dissapointed!

Destroys your computer
Dont buy this. The software provided is malware and it will drain you computer network and CPU capacity, even when the units are not being used. I have complained to UA about this, but they are very reluctant to admit. However, as the activity monitoring on you computer will show, the UA Mixer Engine is hammering away constantly. UA software is malware per definition. My computer, a brand new quad Macbook Pro, eventually went almost dead. I then uninstalled all UA software and it came to live instantly like new. Don't do it. Just don't. Buy my brand new 8 and 8P Apollos if you insist.

Unreliable hardware
I purchased the Apollo 8 Quad a few months ago, and recently received an email about replacing the unit due to some upgrade, so we replaced it. However, the new product came with a scratch, and I was really disappointed. UA said they would replace it again for me, so we sent it back and received another interface, but this time, it was not balanced, the bottom tilts and is not flat. I was really unsatisfied and upset, but since I had to travel overseas for a business trip, I just decided to keep this one because I didn't want to go through the trouble again. I am back now, and writing this review. Truly disappointed with UA.
