Apollo 8
Sounds awesome! Hooked up With Logic pro really easy and was up and running really quick. The Console app is a joy to use and easy to find your way around. I track a lot of Synths and i can notice a big difference of quality in sound quality compared to my previous interface. I'm getting stuck in with the UAD plug ins and they really are top quality!

Good stuff
Love my new Apollo. Easy to use and works perfectly. Very easy to install the software into my Mac and integrated easily into Pro Tools. Can't wait to get my studio dialed in!

BEST INTERFACE!
I've owned my Apollo 8 Quad for over a year now! It has been a great experience. Outstanding sonic quality and built tough. I call it my analog console in a rack, lol.

Amazing Difference Maker
I've been using a UAD-2 Satellite for the past four years, taking advantage of UA's wonderful collection of plugins. Recently I upgraded my interface from a very good unit, to UA's Apollo 8 to take advantage of the Unison pre technology. The difference is startling, and I feel like I'm just scratching the surface so far. Vocals and drums in particular have been the most noticeable to me. I'm very, very happy with this purchase.

An Embarrassment of Riches...
I just upgraded from an Apollo Twin DUO Core and am literally swimming in reverb! So much power and all those dedicated inputs are have changed the way I work. I was thinking about getting a decent analog mixer for my vintage synths but the Apollo does all of that with the power of Unison. Now it's time to get prolific!

I own a twin and now an apollo 8. All I can say is UA = professional quality. Getting the best sound with the best plugins on the planet before it hits the DAW is a great thing. UA for life!

This is my second Apollo interface. I’ve have a twin for about 4 years now. Wish inputs and outputs could easily be disabled and reassigned for DAW, and wish Console tracks could be dragged and dropped to customize view. Other than those minor things, the UAD workflow and sound are just great. I find myself spending less time tweaking and fine tuning plugin settings and more time making music.

Game changer...
This is a major upgrade in my studio. The AD/Da is very clean and my set up sounds so much better. I got the DUO core because I had a free satelite with it and it will be very usefull. It is dsp saturated very fast so 4 core extra will be a charm. I would very much love to group outputs for a futur surround set-up in the console section. Also I wonder why when we go out of dap we canot run the plug-ins in native mode. Last little thing I would love those 2 heaphones out also in the back pannel. Would be a great addition (less jacks in front of me on the desk...)
Well this is my 3-4 concerns. The harware is amazing, full of In/out, the console is great and very intuitive. I juste pluged it and play...Wow ! Recording is very fun with all the FX before going to Pro tools, I'm making music and get vreative very fast. This a studio console with lot's of gear in front of me. One last thing it would be amazing to open other plug-ins in the console even if we add latency to it. Would be great and very simple to track MIDI instruments and print into Pro Tools already Eq'd and compressed. Those are not problems, more wishes....It's full of possibilities and I am amazed. Thanks guys !

TRUE HD INTERFACE
I had an AVID HD/IO with 3 AVID HDX cards and do you know how many plug ins I could run using those cards. NONE other than the Avid plug in's which are not that great. NO UAD or WAVES. Error messages galore. Now I run my Apollo system and have plug ins run on my interface and not by my computers DSP. A huge game changer.

I used to own the silverface Apollo & i didn't like its AD/DA conversion, so that was sold. I also used to own Prism Orpheus & Apogee Symphony MK I. With all of these options I found the sound somewhat flat with not enough detail and "air". This interface sounds great although on paper the converter specs are not really the best out. Which proves that there is way more to conversion than plain dynamic range specs etc.
But the greatest surprise came ... in the headphones amp section! I own a pair of Sennheiser HD800S. At first I tried them with Apogee Groove - really flat and impossible to work on. So I purchased the Sennheiser HDVD800 amp/DAC especially engineered for them. Flat and boring, hard to work! Bought a crazy Wireworld usb cable - a little better. I also used Sonarworks calibration - a little better... But none of them made me say AHAA thats the reference sound. Until I plugged them into the Apollo's amp!
The separation / dynamics / transients / air - all of these are absolutely superb! I couldn't believe this was happening with a stock interface headphone amp, tried 770pro's and other cans. Wow! I have previously been to a great headphone dealer & tried many many super-expensive amp/phones combos, and to be honest this one is by far the best reference-quality I heard. What?! Yes, exactly. So don't believe someone's hype & specs, hear the stuff first. And this interface is to stay & I will expand this system in the future for outboard gear. BUY and enjoy.
