A game changer.
The UAD Ampex ATR-102 is a game changer. This bad boy helped me get that extra weight, punch and presence for the tracks to hit really hard. I used to think tape saturation wasn't necessary on electronic and heavily processed tracks, and was fairly unimpressed with other tape saturation plugins, but after moving to the UAD platform, and getting this gem, I have changed my mind. I actually felt like I got an extra sense of depth on the tracks along with the punchy front. Getting tracks to sound good is really about skill and years and years of hard work, but if there is some "magic" plugin to use to get that finished sound - this would (in my humble opinion) be it.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!
I didn't think something like this would make that much of a difference but as soon as i slapped it on the 2 bus it was all over! I was hooked! I put it on even before i start a mix as it helps me envision the final vibe of the song. Worth every cent and definitely on my top 3 for mix plugins of all time!

あったかい感じ、好き。
API2500とかアナログに通すのとはまた違った太さ、独特の倍音感。バスにインサートすると、途端にまろやかになる感じ。それはまさに、マヨネーズのよう。ノイズのリアルさを演出すれば、塩コショウにもなっちゃう万能さ。あっぱれ。
ちなみに、えびみりんせんべいはマヨネーズが合う。

Sure, you can nitpick anything but this is actually awesome in what it does to the mix bus signal. Start with the presets and start tweaking until you get it right. Fits nearly everything and anything that benefits analogue flavour and some glue

If it sounds good, it is good.
It doesn't matter if you have the real thing or not anymore. In fact I'd rather have a maintenance-free plugin than a huge, space-taking machine that you have to feed with expensive tape and pour money into to keep tip top shape. I love real analog gear as much as anybody, but seriously if you're not swimming in cash none of the great stuff is accessible. This plug makes the ATR-102 accessible to me and even if it's not actually sitting here taking up space in my apartment, it sure sounds like it is. Nobody but gear heads care what your signal went through. It just needs to sound good. So do yourself a favor, get this plug and start throwing it on your master buss.

A dream come true right here. This puts that extra thing on everything it touches. So many possibilities. The presets are wonderful and very varied. Put it on EVERYTHING.

Really impressive...
Did a few mixes with it from the beginning on the master fader. It is a little bit scary what this plug in does for the whole mix in the end. You have to check it out.

If you want a little something extra in your mix put this on the master bus. It does something to your mix that when you start using it you can't stop.

Can not imagine how I could work 2 years without this Tape Recorder
This Plugin is just amazing. With 15 inch/second tape speed the saturation and smoothly bass boost sound perfect for my ears. Mostly the "auto cal" works fine for all my needs. For my EDM-tracks I use it very subtle and this is exactly what my tracks need for their finish. Perfect. Thanks UA for this great Plugin

The only one
This plugin is the only one will take your mastering to the finial level,if you own UA plugins you have to have,not easy to use but still you can start with presets .

Amped ATR-102
I've never laughed at the sound of a plugin, before. This one did it! For years Analog Tape recordings literally tuned my ears to the sound only tape can create. Until now! I added the plugin to a completed mix, found a preset and hit the space bar. The sound was ANALOG TAPE!!! I couldn't believe my ears. Beautiful, breathing and the full sound of analog washed over every wonderful decibel of tone. Everyone needs this plugin!!
Thank You UAD folks! You restored a sound I thought was lost forever. Absolutely EXCELLENT JOB!! You all deserve FIVE STARS for the work you do!!
