A Stompbox Filled with Classic Studio Reverbs

Universal Audio’s stunning emulations of classic studio reverbs have become indispensable tools in the production arsenals of artists and engineers alike, including those of us at Sweetwater. Now, with the Universal Audio Golden Reverberator pedal, guitarists can take those breathtaking ambient reverbs out of the studio and place them on their pedalboards. Packed with three reverb types — Spring 65, Plate 140, and Hall 224 — the Golden Reverberator pedal can instantly go from splatty and splashy to lush and atmospheric, and anything in between. While the Golden Reverberator is built on the classics, it leverages its powerful DSP to expand the capabilities of the original units, delivering several modulation options, stereo and dual-mono operation, and the ability to switch between presets while allowing the effects to spill over and keep their tails intact. Have you always wanted to bring your favorite studio reverbs onstage? Don't delay in checking out the Golden Reverberator from Universal Audio!

Spring 65

Because of its dynamic nature, spring reverb is notoriously difficult to emulate. That’s why Universal Audio spent over three years developing the Spring 65 to capture every detail, nuance, splash, and drip of physical reverb tanks. With three unique variations of tube-driven tanks to choose from, Spring 65 will astound you with its uncanny accuracy.

Plate 140

An indispensable part of the larger-than-life studio recordings of the 1970s, plate reverbs are unmatched for their lush sound, shimmering tails, and ability to slip into a mix without muddying up the works. The Golden Reverberator’s Plate 140 provides three distinctive plates to fuse your guitar lines with epic atmospherics. Add new dimension to a singing solo or bathe strummed chords in a warm, reverberant wash for immersive soundscapes, among other applications.

Hall 224

One of the earliest professional-grade digital reverb units, the 224 was highly renowned for its crystal-clear reverbs and detailed tweakability. The Hall 224 provides a tasty alternative to the Spring 65 and Plate 140, with a modern edge suited for experimental and ambient guitar work. Choose from small, medium, and large hall settings to find the perfect environment for your guitar parts to sit, and independently control the decay of the high, mid, and low frequencies to tailor the reverb’s sound to any setting.

Two additional free effects: Plate 224 and Chamber 224

Along with the three stunning stock effects, Universal Audio adds a bonus in the form of offering two additional 224 effects when you register your Golden Reverberator — Plate 224 and Chamber 224 — which can be loaded onto the pedal via USB. Plate 224 boasts a sweet, bright top end that's perfect for clean guitars; Chamber 224 is echoic and brooding, making it ripe for ambient arrangements.

UAFX Control app for even more control

Download the UAFX Control app for iOS or Android and expand your sonic options. The app lets you witch between true bypass and trails bypass on your Golden Reverberator.

Excellent Reverb

I never liked spring reverb before, and then I played this. Now I love spring reverb. The ambient spring in particular is great, and it's not a spring sound you'd ever get in an amp. The lexicon emulations are incredible as well. All the reverbs have their own distinctive tone, and add their own harmonics to the signal, besides just making it sound far away. The controls are just enough to give you control, but not in a way that's what overwhelming. Best reverb I've heard.

Gold Standard Reverb

I'm not the biggest expert in the world or anything, but this reverb sounds amazing to me. I specifically got a non reverb amp because I wanted to just get a top quality reverb pedal. After much research I went with the UA Golden Reverb and I'm very satisfied.

Worth every penny

Fantastic pedal! Very professional tone. If you're looking for a reverb pedal to be your one and only, this is it.

Quality

This pedal just exudes quality. From the build to the sound, everything about this pedal is top notch. It's reverbs are so realistic, it makes my other reverbs sound artificial. That said, I like having this pedal on my board, along with another more trippy/ambient pedal, like the Slo/Slotva, to have the best of both worlds. I really like having just two presets as well, to toggle between. I keep one set as "normal" reverb, for basic ambience, and another set as a gigantic, over-the-top sound. That said, if you are looking for vast ambient soundscapes from outer space, there are other pedals that do that better. This is designed for people that want the most accurate tank and plate simulations and realistic acoustic spaces.

Inspiring Reverb Pedal

This is my first reverb pedal, so granted, I have nothing to compare it to which I've actually owned, but I settled on this after doing a ton of research (I considered the Flint, Blue Sky, HOF2, Hydra, Holy Grail, and RV6), and boy am I glad I did. The build quality is superb, and (more importantly) the sounds are downright inspiring. The Spring is an amazing emulation of actual spring tanks, the Plates are awesome, and the Hall is heavenly. I wasn't aware when I purchased it, but the app (controlled on a mobile device via Bluetooth) contains a number of factory presets (some of which are absolutely incredible) and the ability to save additional presets therein. I have no need for midi (but I something to consider if you have the need). It may be a bit pricey (though not much more than comparable Strymon offerings), but this is easily my new favorite pedal.
