Disappointing
Multiple crashes, Force Quits on Logic Pro X since getting Apollo/Satellite (after almost no crashes in 15 years of near-daily use.)
Ghosted by UA customer service, to the point where I wonder if UA even employs customer service specialists.
Yeah, the UA plug-ins sound nice … if and when they work.

Weak - Even for OCTO Core
Not thrilled that a $1,300, 8-core device can only run 5 plugins at a time. Pretty shitty performance, but at least it’s built like a tank.

Constant error messages with the Satellite..
I love all my UA devices but since buying the Satellite TB3 I've had nothing but problems. I receive error messages all the time & tried solving the issue myself and with UA support but after months we couldn't figure it out. UA replaced the Satellite with a new device but after the first week the error messages show again. I've factory reset my studio computer but the issue still occurs only when the Satellite is in use & when chained with another device (Apollo etc). Have tried in my other studio but issue still occurs! There is obviously a firmware issue or something their end that needs fixing - I'm also in a UA forum & many people are having the same issue. Let's hope the fix it soon

The Good and the Bad
First of all I want to say, that I love the effects and plugins of UAD. What I don't get is why UAD doesn't want to work with Presonus. When I made the upgrade to a new DAW last year. I tested them all, and the workflow and reviews of Presonus where realy good. Now working with Studio 1 for a year I must say I realy love it. Much better than Qubase and Protools (for me). I invested in a very high end computer and bought the UAD2 Octo Thunderbolt 3. It works with Studio one, but you get errors every 5 minutes. Very enoying... UAD says they won't support it for Studio one...I can't understand why they won't make an effort, so this part of the customer market can make use of the great effects of UAD to? UAD puts so much effort in advertisement. Since I bought the UAD, I get 3 e-mails every day with offers and deals and discounts...so there is realy a very big PR service behind...why nog invest all this time in a new market...the Presonus customers??? I find it realy painful to see I'm working with all the top high end materials...and they can't work together ... such a shame.

Trouble from the beginning
I had trouble getting rid of the hum I was hearing from the unit. I'll admit that my house is not state of the art, but no other piece of equipment created such a hum and I've had a lot of gear in my studio. After a great deal of trial and error I discovered that the Satellite and the apollo twin that I use it with each have to be on a separate leg in the electrical panel.
After that was solved, I looked for the plug-ins that were to come with the unit. My Sweetwater salesman said that I could choose replacements for the standard ones listed since I had already purchased them previously. This turned out to not be true.
UA owned up to the fact that their wording was confusing, but refused to let me choose any alternate plug-ins. I have to say that the extra plug-ins was one of the reasons I bought the unit so I guess I'm out of luck. UA customer service seemed eager to close my support correspondence and be done with me. This was not a good experience.

I received my Satellite about a month or so ago and when it's connected if I load certain plugins, for example the Avalon, it comes up disabled and then gives me some code. I've been trying to call Universal Audio however I always get a recording stating that it's a high call volume or the employees are in a meeting.
Has anyone else had this tech issue with there Satallite??

18 x 24 i-o, should actually say Can Only Use 8 at a time!
I love everything Universal Audio, I love the concept of the Apollo, but the fact that I have so called 18 x24 simultaneous in's and out's is bull. I called UA tech support and the person helping new much less than I did about the Apollo, and that didn't help, it only made me upset (he never knew it)
He tells me that I'm only able to use 8 in's outs at a time with the console software, and with my experience I believe him. I have 4 apollos, so I'm in for the long haul at this point, but UA should have been more clear and not exaggerate 18 x 24 - "8 at a time" is more like it!
Oh, and the Console 2 software is not so easy to get either. Ok I should "RTFM" but what busy musician, engineer, producer has the time? I don't...in my experience, UX design keeps one from needed to read a manual. Don't believe me, use an Apple product!

Promotion fail etc.
I bought this unit since it was supposed to come with the SSL E Channel, Neve 1073 and the 610 as a part of a promotion. The specific unit I got was not included in that promotion. Before registering it I could not find any text which said that it shouldn't have been. Maybe there were some fine print about this somewhere.. I really don't know. However it was, I'm not too happy about this.
But the unit is good. The plugins honestly isn't of the highest quality compared to some others I got, but it's great to be able to unload the CPUs a bit.

DSP underpower and not avalaible when using plugins for recording in console.
Don't think you will have the power of a quad core computer with 4 DSP... One plugin can take 50% of the power of 1 DSP.
Also, When I recording with my Apollo, the console don't use the Satellite to render plugins like compressors of reverb.
Disapointing.

No Thunder Bolt Cable included? WTF!
How hard would it be to include the cable that is 100% of the time needed for their device to work? Now I'm stuck waiting longer to use it. Curious what possible justification UAD could have for that?
