Pretty, pretty good.
Best for intermediate levels of distortion. Doesn’t really nail the irregularities of hardware when pushing things hard.

Color for a good deal!
Heavy on DSP, tiny UI but the sound is good. Hope UA updates their UI’s for the amount they charge.

Very versatile distortion.

Not exactly what I expected
After watching the 5-minute Tips (those videos are great by the way) I expected an over-the-top distortion machine but that's not really what this is. Great saturation and harmonic distortion but kind of a one-trick-pony. Maybe I'm using it wrong. Still really useful in many applications.

Crispy sounds!
Amazing saturation tool in my arsenal! Just wished it had new bigger UI like the new LA-3A, DBX160 and 1176 ! They look incredible !! Please keep adding the new UI for the classic plugins !!!!!

Buy this thing
This plugin is amazing, even on the mixbus. But please, optimize the amount of dsp that consumes. I need to render a lot my audios.

Amazing but...
I love this plugin, really, but the uses of the DSP is insane!!

Good sounding plugin!
I love the sound and it has character.

Another gun in the arsenal
There are plenty of distortion (or harmonic) plugins. Each of them has its own specific sound and possibilities. Vulrure is next to them, not better or worse, it's different. From a slight warm up to a thick distortion of your audio tracks. Another weapon in your sound arsenal.

Rich harmonic tool.
Pretty cool on vocal, organs and drums. I love it but on a very low setting. As soon as you go too far you just crush the sound, might be cool also. I kinda have one setting for everthing and well, it works evertime in parallel and in inserts no worries it gives power and harmonic density in a second. A bit high priced but worth it.

Warmth
Used this on a drum sample kit I put out and just inserting it beefs up the warmth before even turning a knob. Love it!

Culture vulture
I think this is one of the best uad compressors you can buy! Very happy with this one!

Place in a battery bus and bass ...warmth guaranteed for a highlight in the mix A must have
I use culture vulture to give a little more flavor when I use the technique of multi bus compression! Place just after a DBX 160, wow ,warmth and dynamism are waiting for you !!!!!!! Exellent tool !!! Thank you UAD and thermionic culture !!!
Donat Louisin for youtube mix indie home itb !!

Love It!
Hearing and reading alot about the hardware i hat this on my wishlist for a while. I can't compare it with the hardware, because i never owned one. But i really love this plugin for my Basslines. Also put it on my drums and i'm really happy with the results. It brings a certain warmth to my sounds that i really like. It's heavy on the dsp, but just bounce stuff when your done with it. No biggy!

A special piece of gear (plugin)
Let me start by saying I have Decapitator, and absolutely the flexibility in comparison withe the Culture Vulture. Having said that, I don't know anything else that can DO what the CV does.
My primary use for it is on thin sounding tracks. Give them a robust body and depth with the CV. I understand the DSP hit. That's why I simply print the effect, or use it sparingly on busses. Guitar sims love plugin. Definitely, you need to be careful and use to taste. The Vulture can get unruly in a mix, quickly.
I wish it had more flexibility, especially tonally like the Decapitator. But sound-wise this plug stands alone.

Like this plug
I'm able to go from smooth saturation to serious dirt, it seems more natural
sounding than decapitator or saturn. Can't attest to how it compares to hardware, but I like it.

So simple, so great, so much dsp
Absolutely wonderful. Just throw it with the bass, turn the knobs for half a minute and your there. BUT beware where & how you use it. Unless you have the UAD power needed you will soon run out of Dsp...:-) So that being said: great but very hungry.(or thirsty?)
