Build Engineer

Location: Scotts Valley, CA

Job Description

Responsibilities

The Build Engineer’s responsibilities encompass the systems, tools, and processes for building and deploying high-quality software, including:

  • Build and improve the product release pipeline, maximizing quality and minimizing time to market
  • Coach developers to get the most out of our tools and processes
  • Select and develop build tools and develop build automation scripts
  • Monitor and report build health
  • Improve build speed

Required Skills

  • Mastery of distributed version control (we use Git)
  • Expert knowledge of cross-platform build tools (make, SCons, CMake, Ant)
  • 5+ years of experience in build and release automation
  • Strong command of C++, Python, and Bash
  • Understanding of Linux packaging and configuration management
  • Experience with Atlassian Bamboo a plus
  • Experience with Docker or other virtualization system a plus
  • Familiarity with digital audio/video a plus

Education Requirements:

Multi-Lingual Sales Order Administrator

Location: Amsterdam

Job Description

Universal Audio is seeking a Bi-Lingual Sales Order Administrator to join the Sales team in our European Office in Amsterdam. Reporting to the European Sales Manager, we are looking for an organized self-starter with excellent communication skills and a great work ethic. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all European based order entry, processing and follow-through. The candidate must be able to speak, read and write English.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, confirm and process new customer orders on a daily basis
  • Answer phones and address customer queries via phone and email
  • Interact daily with dealers across Europe
  • Prepare international shipments, including scheduling freight carriers and preparing customs documentation
  • Data entry for key account inventory and sell-thru
  • Provide administrative support for the European sales team
  • Work with the Sales Administrators in the USA to coordinate shipping

Requirements

  • Ability to speak English and Dutch. Ability to speak German and/or French desired.

Product Manager

Job Description

Universal Audio (UA) seeks a Product Manager with a strong background in pro audio, recording, and MI products/markets. Universal Audio makes some of the most advanced hybrid digital/analog audio products available in the market today. The position of Product Manager requires that you be adept at managing both software and hardware products. You must have outstanding communication & documentation skills and you must be able work within diverse product development teams.


As a member of the Product Management team, you will be involved in the early stages of product development, including market research and customer interaction; as well as defining product requirements during the definition and design phases. You will be responsible for clearly communicating technically complex information to multiple departments, while managing the lifecycle of professional audio, recording, and music-making products.


The role of Product Manager at UA is multi-faceted. You will work within cross-functional groups in the organization to define product requirements that solve customer problems and pain points. Your primary role is to insure UA is making products that customers will love.


As a UA Product Manager, your primary deliverables include Market Requirements Documents (MRD), Product Concept Documents (PCD), Product Requirements Documents (PRD), as well as Product Briefs (to Marketing Communications) and planning presentations for executive staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the product strategy and the roadmap based on business opportunities, ROI, customer needs and market trends for Universal Audio products
  • Deliver on-time definitions with prioritized products/features/workflows and corresponding business justification plan
  • Work with different departments including Engineering, QA, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service & Finance to drive new product releases
  • Interact with customers via available channels (pro studios, home studios, social networks, trade shows, etc.) to build products and features that solve problems for customers
  • Hold regular planning meetings to continually drive the product roadmap
  • Manage product lifecycles (Launch, Sustain/Update, EOL, EOS, etc.)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive domain experience within the music, pro audio, technology industries, or related industry
  • 5+ years product management and or product marketing experience from a business-to-consumer software or hardware company
  • Expert in music recording/creation technology including recording interfaces, effects processors/plug-ins, digital audio workstations, guitar products, and virtual instruments
  • Experience identifying customer and market pain points and building solutions to solve them

Senior Software Engineer

Technical Support Representative

Location: Scotts Valley, CA


Job Description

Universal Audio is looking for a talented Technical Support Representative to join our growing team. This person will provide technical support for UA’s product line of connected digital interfaces and analog equipment, provide support for our on-line store and provide presales product guidance. This is done via online request, telephone support and via self-service tools.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist all Universal Audio customers and incoming inquiries as required.
  • Provide UA product installation support and troubleshooting for Windows and MAC based computers.
  • Provide configuration and troubleshooting of Windows and MAC based computer systems and DAWs to customers.
  • Generate knowledge base entries, both written and in video tutorial formats
  • Communicate directly with customers either by telephone, chat, online requests, or service requests.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests within specified department metrics.
  • Handle and resolve or appropriately escalate customer complaints to achieve high customer satisfaction interaction scores.
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints.
  • Process replacement parts orders.
  • Provide customers with presales product and service information.
  • Provide support to customers to help resolve potential account issues, including research of online purchases.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments as required.
  • Provide Return Material Authorizations (RMA) in accordance with warranty standards, internal policies or for approved sales returns.
  • Coordinate the handling of RMA, and service requirements through the distribution channel.

Web Producer (Ecommerce)

Universal Audio is one of the most respected names in professional audio and music recording products, with a 50-year legacy of traditional hand-built analog studio equipment, and the industry-standard DSP hardware/software plug-in platform.


The Web Producer (Ecommerce Team) is responsible for the practical application of design, assembling promotional and content emails, product pages, and other assets on the uaudio.com website. Best-practice development and design methods will be utilized to ensure timely completion of various online marketing initiatives.


The ideal candidate will have excellent HTML chops, thorough understanding of relevant Adobe Creative Suite apps, an eye for design detail, and experience integrating various front-end web technologies.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Working with Creative team, produce visually appealing web pages, emails, and interfaces based on design mock-ups.
  • Work closely with Email Marketing Manager, Project Manager, and other members of the Development Team to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assemble Product and CMS Pages in our Magento content management system
  • Convert raw images and layouts into CSS/XHTML themes.
  • Troubleshoot front-end related issues on the UA website(s).
  • Assist with design / graphic production work.
  • Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in designing / front-end developing websites and/or web applications. Minimum of 2 years of web design and development experience is required.
  • Practical experience in development of HTML, CSS, graphics/multimedia creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Solid understanding UX, with an eye for meticulous graphic design.
  • Practical exposure and/or experience with some or all of the following: Javascript, XML, and Content Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, flexible and team-oriented environment.
  • Interest and/or experience with music and audio production a plus.
